Projecting the Twins: Nick Punto

I said I wan’t going to project a player that doesn’t have his position locked down. Nick Punto is the one exception to this rule, as he will more than likely play either 2nd or 3rd. It is not likely that the Twins sign 2 free agents to fill both positions, meaning Punto will play the other.

Punto is an elite defending infielder. He is not great with the stick, but he is a decent 9 hitter. He can not be expected to be any better than that.

Seems it doesn’t matter how well Punto produces. Gardy always gets him in the lineup somehow, someway.

But he’s a wizard in the field and Gardy likes defense.
